aftercare.

Aftercare info will vary from artist to artist, due to different styles, how each artist applies the tattoo and personal preference.

This is the way I recommend you care for your new tattoo, unless stated differently in person after your session.

instructions.

  • Remove the cover after 1-2 hours, and wash gently with soap and water using clean hands. I recommend using liquid soap and warm water. Pat dry with a clean towel.

  • Please gently wash your tattoo morning and night. Remember to have clean hands before you touch your tattoo and always use a clean towel to pat dry.

  • Apply a thin layer of aftercare cream 2 times daily. DO NOT apply a thick layer of cream. Please wait 14 days or until the tattoo is fully healed before applying any other creams, oils or sprays to the tattooed area. (Aftercare creams i recommend - Bepanthen Antiseptic, Dr Pickles, Hustle Butter - all creams are available at the studio)

  • DO NOT swim or soak the tattoo. You can shower with your new tattoo. Avoid baths, swimming in the sea or soaking in any water until the tattoo is fully healed. Soaking your tattoo in water will result in colour loss. Avoid the gym, heavy exercise or sport for at least 3 days after the tattoo is done.

  • Try to wear loose clothing, and keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight during healing. It is very important to make sure your bed sheets and clothing are washed and clean, and be mindful of leaning against unclean surfaces (dependant on the tattoo placement).

  • Cover your new tattoo with clothing if you are going to be in the sun. Once the tattoo is fully healed you can apply sunscreen.

  • DO NOT pick, itch or scratch.

  • Healing tattoos can form some scabs and flaking/dry skin. Leave your tattoo alone, do not pick or scratch. After your initial flake falls off, you may experience a secondary flake known as milky skin which will last up to a week. Keep applying cream and avoid sunlight until this goes away.

Usually tattoos take 10-14 days to heal. It is best to follow the above instructions until your tattoo is completely healed.
